What is your design style?- Sophisticated, understated, eclectic, modern, a little edgy; and comfortable and functional as well as beautiful. I prefer a mixture of furniture styles rather than have everything match too perfectly. I'm a fan of neutrals, ranging from creamy whites to warm grays to dark chocolaty bittersweet and espresso browns. And every room needs something black! I like to use color and pattern for emphasis and drama. I'm drawn to metallics, such as copper, pewter, gunmetal, and bronze; and spicy colors like cinnamon, nutmeg, persimmon, and paprika. I'm fond of earthy "pond scum" greens and blues. I also like to juxtapose textures and materials for depth; rich woods with steely metals and shiny glass, or silks with rustic, hand woven textiles. And I love using paintings, sculptures, and collections of objects acquired through years of living and traveling to provide individuality and personality.
- Your favorite design elements?
- I adore sexy little chairs, and try to place at least one in every room that I design. And I like unusual, thought provoking art.
- What are things you can't live without?
- My needs are minimal, but I must have good tea, a cell phone, Zeus (my laptop), Brown (a little stuffed dog that has traveled all over the world with me), clothing (preferably black) that can be rolled up and thrown into a backpack without wrinkling, my family and friends....and love

- Being as creative as I want to be!
